I'm afraid we're unable to do this due to limitations in the update mechanism. Please download the Focused app to continue to receive updates.

Nope, as an existing Typed customer you can obtain a free license from the following page.

Ah, not a problem. Customers who purchased through the App Store should update to the new app automatically. The update is just about to be released so please check for updates shortly.
