Because Markdown text files are simply plain-text, you can use almost any text editor to open them.</p>
<p>Focused makes things even better, by showing you formatting as you write in a beautiful layout that’s easy to read and edit.</p>
<p>Formatting is easy: to bolden text, surround text with two asterisks:</p>
<p>**<strong>this text is bold</strong>**</p>
<p>For italics, use “underscore”:</p>
<p>_<em>this is italics</em>_</p>
<p>Create a list by starting new lines with a dash:</p>
<p>- Item 1</p>
<p>- Item 2</p>
<p>And numeric lists like this:</p>
<p>1. This is my first item</p>
<p>2. This is my second item</p>
<p>You can also add links to text, and when exported to HTML, Focused will create the appropriate HTML code for links:</p>
